WALLIS ENTERTAINMENT IS REIMAGINING THE
PICCADILLY
SO IT ENTERTAINS THROUGH THE ART OF
CINEMA
FOR GENERATIONS TO COME.
We’re pleased to share that planning approval has been granted for the revitalisation of The Piccadilly site.
The approved proposal is centred on preserving and securing the long-term future of our much-loved Art Deco cinema, while introducing boutique residential apartments at the rear of the property.
For generations, The Piccadilly has brought people together through film, culture, and shared experiences — and this next chapter is about ensuring it can continue doing so for generations to come.
As the project progresses, the cinema will temporarily close during parts of the construction process to allow these important works to take place safely and efficiently. We know The Piccadilly holds a special place in so many hearts, and we’re focused on preserving the character, legacy, and experience audiences know and love.
We’d like to sincerely thank the community for the passion, care, and interest shown throughout the consultation process. We’re proud to continue The Piccadilly’s story into the future and look forward to welcoming audiences back for its next act.
Further updates and timing information will be shared as planning progresses.

WHAT’S NEXT?
The project will continue through the next stages and further updates will be provided as milestones are reached.
Wallis Cinema is actively consulting with key stakeholders, including the City of Adelaide, relevant State and Federal Government personnel, Walter Brooke Architects, Forthwell Pty Ltd and Savills, to ensure the project supports the broader economic and community development goals of the region.
